Soundcloud has announced its first DJ performance integration with the popular software Serato. Soundcloud is well known as a platform that supports lesser known or unique releases and for the first time, DJs will have the ability to stream the full catalogue straight through DJ performance software.

Soundcloud has announced that for the first time its library is available for integration with performance software, and Serato is pioneering the new service.

Soundcloud has stated that this integration includes the streaming of high-quality audio, however, it is only available to those who own a SoundCloud Go+ premium subscription, as well as Serato DJ Pro 2.1 or Serato DJ Lite 1.1.

If you’re a DJ with Serato who wants to add some Soundcloud spice to their set, this new integration is great news. But what if you’re not a Serato user? Well, according to SoundCloud a similar service will be released next year for integration with performance software from the likes of Virtual DJ, Native Instruments, Mixvibes, DEX and Hercules.

Kerry Trainor, Soundcloud’s Cheif Executive Officer stated that “SoundCloud is committed to empowering creators with the best tools and resources to grow their careers. Today’s launch is the first time DJs can mix and stream SoundCloud’s massive catalog directly in professional-level DJ software.”

Serato’s Chief Strategy Officer Nick Maclaren said that “SoundCloud is such an important platform for music discovery and have long been aligned with the DJ community. We’re thrilled to partner with a service that offers such a large and diverse catalogue of songs unavailable anywhere else online.”
