
Sonic Youth will be auctioning off a load of gear via Reverb this October, including a bunch of guitars, amps and pedals, as well as super rare test pressings and other memorabilia.

Sonic Youth will be auctioning off a load of guitars, amps, pedals, rare vinyl and memorabilia this October. Check out some of the gear below.
Launching on October 30th, the auction will offer over 200 pieces of gear, as well as nearly 200 screen-printed show posters, rare poster-sized photographs, and personal relics from the noise rock heroes.
Amongst the guitars being sold off are a ’70s Fender Telecaster Deluxe used by Lee Ranaldo, Jim O’Rourke, and Mark Ibold from 1987 to 2009, a candy apple red Fender Jazzmaster used by Thurston Moore for more than a decade, and a sunburst Jazzmaster used Ranaldo. One of Kim Gordon’s Fender Precision Basses will also be available.
There will also be hundreds of effects pedals the band amassed throughout their career.
In terms of vinyl, there will be hundreds of exclusive test pressings, reissues, and rare records for sale, including versions of Daydream Nation, Murray Street, Goo, Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star, as well as additional pressings from Sonic Youth Recordings and Goofin’ Records.
