Prince’s famous (and without question, most unique) Yellow Cloud electric guitar went up for auction on May 18. It fetched the extraordinary sum of $225,000.
A truly one-of-a-kind instrument: the Yellow Cloud guitar could have only been owned by Prince. It went under the hammer recently and fetched $225k.
The sale was part of a larger auction, titled: Music Icons: Property from the Life and Career of Prince, which included other guitars and selected items from his wardrobe.
The guitar was custom made in Prince’s home town of Minneapolis in 1989. It was designed by the man himself and was built by Knut-Koupee Enterprises and featured his personal symbol on the fretboard.
