To mark the auspicious date of April 14 (Avril 14th for Aphex Twin fans), Novation has released an update for its Bass Station II synth that was guided by the hand of the UK electronic legend.
Novation has teamed up with Aphex Twin to deliver an update to Bass Station II, featuring a host of new ways to approach sound design.
At the centre of the development is AFX Mode. Here’s how Novation describes it:
“Put simply, it lets you modify your Bass Station II patch on a key-by-key basis. Use it to introduce subtle changes to a sound as you play up and down the keyboard; divide the keyboard into multiple zones (one per key if you like!), each playing its own sound; or create entire drum kits in a single preset for triggering manually or via the Arpeggiator.”
Other features of the update include fixed duration envelopes, extended sub-oscillator control, oscillator diverge and more.
