Moritz Simon Geist has just released a techno record made entirely by robots. The builder and musician released the four-track EP on October 12, with the full album to follow in November.
A production from the future: Moritz Simon Geist is the artist behind the techno album that was recorded exclusively by self-made robots that he built himself.
The EP, entitled The Material Turn and the album, Robot Electronic Music, feature machines that make industrial clunks on metal, 3D printed kalimbas and devices to create ethereal guitar string drones.
Geist is also behind the MR-808, a drum machine blown up to larger-than-life proportions, where acoustic drums are played by programmed robots.
