JBL has unveiled a modern take on studio speakers, the One Series 104 Compact Powered Reference Monitors. The 104s are a new breed of monitor. With their sleek, rounded design, JBL state they have been created with “the modern production lifestyle in mind”.
JBL’s new One Series 104 Reference Monitors have been designed to accommodate the ergonomics of modern production lifestyles.
JBL state that their priority with their 104s was to allow content creators to hear every detail while mixing and editing. These units benefit from a newly engineered 4.5-inch coaxial driver which JBL claims delivers “crystal clear highs and deep bass, without a subwoofer.”
This new driver has been developed using the research that helped to formulate the waveguide in their popular M2 and 7-series monitors, as well as the acclaimed 3-series.
The rounded look of the One Series 104s debuts a new design language for JBL. They also have space efficiency in mind, as their compact size is empathetic to those who operate in tighter work spaces. JBL has also included a few nifty features such as front-panel volume control and a front-panel headphone jack which provides isolation in a single step.
