IK Multimedia has just announced the iRig Micro Amp. On the surface, it’s a 15 watt battery powered combo. But it also connects to iOS devices, Mac and PC for recording through your favourite AmpliTube stompboxes.
IK Multimedia have long since celebrated the tiny. The iRig Micro Amp is no exception. And despite its proportions, it offers a lot of versatility.
Firstly, the amp itself comes with three analog channels: clean, drive and lead. When plugged in, it puts out 15 watts, but also runs on 6 AA batteries at 7.5 watts.
You can connect it to a separate cabinet via the speaker output, but the combo itself is small enough to fit on your desktop.
The digital devices output allows you to connect directly to your iOS/Mac/PC and use the included AmpliTube app and software. This means you can tap into dozens of classic amp and stompbox emulations and hear it back through the amp’s 4 inch driver.
