Based off the design of their legendary 50s single cut Les Paul Jr, Gibson have announced a new Billie Joe Armstrong signature guitar.
By swapping the standard P90 for a single zebra ’57 humbucker in the bridge, the new model is a fresh spin on Armstrong’s previous signature guitar with the company.
“Built to rock out on”: Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is set to release a new signature Les Paul guitar with Gibson.
“The classic solid-slab, single-cutaway mahogany body provides maximum tonal resonance, and killer sustain,” Gibson write on their website.
The guitar will come complete a mahogany body and neck, a rosewood fretboard, vintage wraparound bridge and vintage deluxe tuners. You can get them in either Ebony, Maraschino Red or Sonic Blue nitrocellulose finish.
Armstrong says the new guitar was built to “rock out on.” See the guitars in action below and check out the full specs here.
