Fender has released a new line of stripped back guitars, the Lightweight Ash American Professional range. Available in the new format is a Stratocaster, Telecaster and Jazz Bass, all with a unique new finish.
If your old axe has been weighing you down, Fender’s new Lightweight Ash American Professional Range might be just the thing for you.
Each model in the new series utilises a new lightweight ash body, however, the other specs are much the same as the rest of Fender’s American Professional lineup, with treble-bleed circuits, V-Mod pickups and narrow tall frets. One exception is that the Lightweight Ash Tele has ‘modern-C-to-D’ neck profile rather than the standard ‘deep C’.
In terms of the aesthetics, the lightweight series is all new, with three finishes unique to each guitar. The Stratocaster gets an Antique Natural finish with a tortoiseshell pickguard, the Tele scores a Honey Blonde finish with parchment pickguard, while the Jazz Bass gets Sienna Sunburst with an aged white pearl pickguard and pickup covers.
