Eventide Launches the Plugin Reboot of Their Iconic SP2016 Reverb

Eventide has released the plugin version of their legendary hardware unit, the SP2016. The original was released in 1982 and was put to great use by the likes of Dave Pensado, Mick Guzauski and more.

Eventide have a rich legacy of cutting edge effects units. They’ve reached into their back-catalogue to recreate their classic SP2016 reverb in the form of a plugin.

The original was prized for its three distinct reverb types. The new version recreates them in Vintage (algorithms that are true to the original unit) and Modern (which have a brighter character, are more diffuse and use a higher bit depth) modes.

The Room reverb is a no-nonsense room ambience. It has an extreme pre-delay range, making it possible to produce doubling and single echo effects. Stereo Room is a large concert hall reverb with a clear and natural character.

Hi-Density Plate simulates a dual pickup plate, making instruments appear bigger and brighter than they actually are.
