Erie Ball has unveiled a new signature Music Man bass, created for none other than Vulpeck bassist Joe Dart. It’s stripped back, natural and simple, with funk at the forefront of its design, but fans should get in quick because the Joe Dart bass is a very limited-edition.
Attention Vulpeck fans, Joe Dart has helped to develop a stripped-back Ernie Ball Music Man Bass with one thing in mind – funk.
The Joe Dart Ernie Ball Music Man Bass certainly looks the part, with a sleek satin-finish on its ash body and a flamed maple neck and fingerboard. The single custom passive MM humbucker pickup was jointly designed by Dart and bandmate Jack Stratton and tone is customisable via the guitar’s single knob. Factory fitted flat-wound strings ensure this bass has a crisp snap and pop.
If this looks like your kind of thing, you better get in quick because the Joe Dart Bass is limited to 50 units only, which will feature ‘First 50’ engraved on the guitar’s backplate. They will be available by March but delivery may take longer than five months, so it’s no doubt an exclusive axe, but if you can get your hands on one it will likely go down as a collectible piece of funk history.
The Joe Dart Ernie Ball Music Man Bass is available directly from Vulpeck’s website.
