Brainworx bx_console E Adds New Realism to Channel Strip Plugins

Brainworx have just released bx_console E, their emulation promising to turn your DAW into a 72 channel SSL E series console.

The bx_console E is the Brainworx tribute to the SSL E series console – a desk that tracked and mixed an untold number of hits in the 80s and 90s.

Complete with four band parametric EQ, expander/gate, compressor/limiter and high pass/low pass filters, the bx_console E delivers flexibility and powerful sound processing options.

The plugin also features what Brainworx term Tolerance Modelling Technology (TMT), which is designed to emulate the variable electronic behaviour between channels. This means that when you load up each instance of the plugin, the behaviour will more closely resemble the realistic attributes of each individual channel strip.

Some modern additions to the software includes a dry/wet control, a secondary compressor release time, for more fine dynamic control and high-pass filter on the compressor’s sidechain. Saturated character is available through Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
