Alesis has launched the Strike Multipad. It’s a percussion pad that goes beyond performance and into the worlds of sampling, editing and looping.
The Strike Multipad from Alesis offers unprecedented versatility from a percussion pad. Performance, looping and sampling are all covered in a single unit.
Firstly, the Strike ships with more than enough sounds (8,000 plus) to get you up and running. It also has nine velocity sensitive pads and five built-in effects, so gigging straight out of the box shouldn’t be a problem.
Yet, the Strike Multipad’s ability to interact with the outside world is what sets it apart.
Sample editing is made easy with a 4.3″ screen and tactile knobs. Plus, there are a few options – including USB, smartphone and microphone – for recording samples into the machine.
It could also function as the hub of a project studio, with its two in, two out audio/MIDI interface, alongside the inclusion of Pro Tools First and Ableton Live Lite.
An audio looper – which can record audio from an external source – is also on hand.
