The limitations are space and money. If I had things my way I would have racks of pre-amps and compressors and EQs all set up ready to patch in off a Neve or SSL console. Alas this is not quite the case. There are however definite advantages to working out what is truly beneficial to the studio in an exponential way. There might be several things that could really make a difference. Recent advancements here are a new amp and mono speaker, re-tuning the control room with some simple furniture adjustments and hooking up the Otari’s VU”s so we can monitor ‘power’. Simple obvious stuff that really helps.
In light of some of this new found fun stay tuned for some small but very useful product development from yours truly with a little help from our friend Ivan Richards. ETA 2013 so sit tight.
